aether1.org Penelope Wehrli camera orfeo is an attempt to transfer the neuronal process of remembering, which is simultaneously a process of new definition and of erasure, onto a space. The audience’s process of listening and observing is thus a constant process of remembering.

The loop-like character, which is already present in the musical structure of the aria, seems to be endless – but the material is limited. Each musical module can only be heard once per night. The evening, the spielwerk is over when all the single-voice modules are used up (a total of 100 minutes). An evening can last between 100 and 360 minutes. Each performance is unique.
camera orfeo is a poetically circular system, a microscopic kaleidoscope of images, sound and movement.
